Salley Sawyer is a great fan of public libraries. In the 1980s, she produced a month-long series of library programs for the East Glastonbury Library in Connecticut. While competing her Master’s degree in Educational Media, she successfully wrote Humanities grants to fund public programming at the Eastern Connecticut Library Association. She has a BS in art education and holds a PhD in Instructional Technology from the University of Georgia. Salley has taught a wide range of art and craft classes for adults and children – everything from Flat Reed Basket Making to Baker Dough and Gelli printing. Having retired from UNLV, she is currently teaching art classes at the UNLV Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

Gibson Library is located in the Lake Mead Crossings Center on W. Lake Mead Pkwy. and S. Water St. This location features a drive-thru window, a computer lab, and study rooms.
